Skiing in France

For the February school holiday we went to our house in France for a few days of skiing in Alpe d'Huez. Paula couldn't come as she had classes at university, but this time Piet's sister joined with her family. They hadn't been in the Alps for a long time, and were pleasantly surprised with the variety of easy slopes, and really enjoyed their stay. Dorien and her cousin Sam choose to go on snowboards, a first for both, and they did surprisingly well. After a few days they managed to go down most blue slopes, and also some red ones.
The weather was very variable, from warm and sunny to cloudy, rainy, but never very cold. Unfortunately Piet's sister only had grey days on the slopes, and missed out on the last sunny day as they had to drive home early. That last day provided near perfect conditions, with sunshine, temperatures around zero and great snow conditions. Dorien joined us on her skis for her last day. After a usual day of cleaning and catching up with the neighbours we drove back to our regular lives.
